The key fact here is that rough kid Plan B was supposedly in a punk band at the age of 14. This could be The Streets with an acoustic guitar. This could be Britain’s very own little strum along Eminem. The actual single is fine, with lyrically challenging verses and a R'n'B-lite chorus to hum along to. Thing is, Plan B comes across a mouthy, arrogant brat - the type to steer clear of so as not to get mugged. A bit like Lady Sovereign really. Fine if you think getting a fat slice of street culture is edgy cool, but if you have to put up with that kind of crap already it’s far from what you want to be listening to.
